Gather. Share. Nourish.

In the heart of Hassocks, you’ll find our local Sussex pub built on simple things done well: good food, good company, good laughs and a beautifully warm welcome from our amazing team.

Our menu brings together comfort and craft - familiar favourites, seasonal ingredients and plates made with care.

Come for a slow lunch, a midweek supper, a Sunday roast or a glass by the fire - and stay for that dessert or second round.

Gather your crowd.

Share something good.

Leave feeling well fed, well looked after and nourished.

Food & Drink

A glass of orange-colored cocktail garnished with a slice of pineapple and a small strawberry, placed on a gray stone surface with purple petunias in the background.

Drinks

Wine that pairs well with a long catch-up.

Beer that tastes best after a walk on the Downs.

A spritz that belongs in the garden when the sun turns up.

Whether it’s a quiet pint or a celebration, you’ll always find something worth raising a glass to here.

Sip. Share the moment. Settle in.

A plate of sliced beef steak with a roasted potato and sauce, on a wooden table with two glasses of white and red wine, a fork and knife, and a vase with purple flowers.

Dining

Expect pub comfort with a little extra thought behind it: crispy smash burgers, proper roasts, slow-braised favourites and bright seasonal plates that change with the kitchen’s creative flair (and the weather).

Hearty, honest, generous.

Food for everyone that you’ll want to share, even if you’re not the sharing type.

Come hungry. Leave nourished.

A cozy restaurant interior with a large wooden dining table set for a meal, with glasses, cutlery, and small flower vases. There are wooden chairs around the table and a brick fireplace with a wood stove in the background, decorated with stacked logs and a floral wallpapered wall.

Groups & Gatherings

Lunch with friends, office get-togethers, family Sundays and festive tables - we make room for the moments that matter.

Choose a cosy corner or book The Den for your own space.

Dietary restrictions? Kids? Aunt who only eats beige food?

Everyone’s welcome here - and no one is an afterthought.

Gather your people. We’ll handle the rest.
