Frequently Asked Questions

What if we just fancy a drink?

You’re more than welcome to pop in for a pint, a glass of wine, or a soft one! We’ve always got room for walk-ins, and if you’re bringing a bigger group, we recommend giving us a ring to book ahead.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Absolutely — we keep plenty of space for folks who just turn up. The more, the merrier. We will even have somewhere for you to leave you wellies or walking boots by the front door.

Can I run a tab?

Of course! You’re welcome to open a tab at the bar or from your table — just speak to one of our team when you arrive.

Can we extend our lunchtime booking into the evening?

If the table’s free, we’ll always do our best to let you linger a little longer. Best to have a word with us ahead of time to check availability.

You’re fully booked when I want to come — is there any chance of a table?

Never say never! We sometimes have last-minute cancellations, so give us a call and we’ll do what we can. And of course, walk-ins are always welcome on a first-come, first-served basis.

Does everyone in my group need to arrive bang on time?

We ask that your group arrives within 20 minutes of your booking time. If someone’s running late, just give us a call and we’ll do our best to hold the table..

One of our group will arrive later than the 20-minute window — is that OK?

If it’s just one or two stragglers, let us know when you arrive, and we’ll try to accommodate them.

We’re running late for our booking! What should we do?

Don’t panic — we hold tables for 20 minutes. Just give us a ring, and we’ll do our best to look after you.

I think I’ve left something behind — who do I contact?

Drop us a note at hello@thethatchedinn.co.uk and we’ll check for you. While we always try to reunite lost property with its owner, please note we can’t accept responsibility for items left behind.

Is The Thatched Inn wheelchair accessible?

Yes, we are — and we’ve got an accessible loo too. If you need any extra assistance, please give us a heads-up before you arrive. There is also access to our wonderful pub garden via the decking.

Do you have high chairs?

Yes, we’ve got a few high chairs — just let us know when you book or ask when you arrive.  If we have lots of lovely families joining us then we can’t always guarantee that we will have one straight away, but we will always do our best.

Can I bring a pushchair?

Absolutely. Let us know in advance and we’ll make sure there’s a little extra room around your table if we can.   We may ask you to move it just out of the pathways if it’s blocking them so that we can deliver your beautiful food and drinks! Access to the garden can be found through the decking, follow the path to playground.

We’re celebrating something special — can we decorate our table?

We love a celebration! Balloons and banners are welcome, but we kindly ask you to leave the confetti and sparklers at home.

Can I bring my dog?

Well behaved dogs on leads are very welcome in the Pub, The Den and outdoor area, we don’t allow dogs in the main restaurant. Service dogs are of course welcome in all areas.

OUTDOORS

Can I eat outside?

Absolutely — on sunny days, there’s no better place than our garden, decking, or by The Tin Hut.  We will always have a food offering outside, weather permitting!  Note that this may not be our indoor menu at peak times, but wow, have we got some amazing BBQ!

Do you have a playground?

Yes, we do! Our playground is tucked away at the back of the garden — the perfect spot for little adventurers. We kindly remind all guests that children must be supervised at all times, and their safety remains the responsibility of their parent or guardian.

What time is the BBQ open outside?

The Tin Hut, our dedicated BBQ spot, fires up when the sun's out and the weather's playing nice! Times can vary depending on the day and any special events — just ask one of the team or check our socials for the latest updates.

Can I book a table outside?

We’re not taking bookings for tables outside at the moment as we have plenty and love when people can just relax and rock up.  If you’re looking to try and secure a larger space outside for a ‘proper do’ though, then give us a buzz and we would be happy to help!.

What time does the outside area close?

Our outdoor spaces start to wind down around 9.30pm so we can be considerate to our neighbours. We kindly ask all our guests to help us keep the peace by keeping noise to a minimum as the evening wears on.  Don’t forget that we’re open later inside!

Can I have drinks outside?

Absolutely — drinks taste even better in the sunshine. Whether you’re at a table, the decking, or relaxing by The Tin Hut, you’re welcome to enjoy a drink outdoors.

Do you allow glassware outside?

Yes, we do allow glassware outside. We just ask that you take extra care with it. If you happen to knock one over, please let a member of the team know — and for your own safety, don’t attempt to clean it up yourself.

Just a little note:

By joining us at The Thatched Inn, you might find yourself in the background of a photo or two, taken for our website or social media. If you’d prefer not to be featured, just let a member of the team know.
